There are many people in India who love Bullet and go head over heels as they spot one. I respect the brand for it being there since 7 decades but it ends there. I won't buy one. I've seen many riders taking part in local or national rallies with all the attitude and arrogance because they owned the Bullets. Once flagged off, I've seen all of them down and out with engine failures or other issues and not able to compete even a 100 cc Japanese bike on a flat out endurance test.

Please do not get tempted by the BHP figures of various companies. They don't tell the truth. We have  Bajaj, Hero and TVs companies manufacturing bikes and scooters. All three are the by products of Japanese and continue to buy the design and the components from Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki respectively.

Honda makes good bikes but they are not so dedicated. Suzuki also makes good  bikes. I signed my first international motor sports contract with Suzuki but I find them focusing on midrange engine and the mileage.

I would prefer Kawasaki or Yamaha. However, Kawasaki can only be serviced by  a Bajaj dealer and I have not found anyone with trained service technicians. I own a Kawasaki ZXR 750 and BMW K1200S. The service setup for both the brands is pathetic but being a motor sports professional  and an engineer, I know how to fix the issues and the people who can do a good job there in India.

A couple of my learned friends have suggested Yamaha FZ and I have no reason to deny their choice and suggestions. I've riden the bike and I find it far superior than Bajaj 200 and others. I rode Yamaha last year to Khardungla, the highest motor able road. Trust me, I did not find the need to down shift to even 3rd gear except for twice for a short while. Mind you, the altitude of Khardungla is 18350 feet. There were other bikes like a Bajaj Avenger, Pulsar 200 and 180 riden by men from Delhi. They felt breathless. I know the reason and that's what makes all the difference.

I'm sorry to write so much.  The purpose is to make one to understand the background and know that I don't base my opinion on hearsay or emotions.

Yamaha is a dedicated company for two wheelers and not running around to sell 4 wheelers like Honda and Suzuki. Bikes of Yamaha Motors is their bread and butter. They make them the best.
