1 lakh engineering seats are vacant this year

COIMBATORE: over 1lakh engineering seats in government quota are remain vacant after completion of single window counselling of the tamilnadu engineering admission{TNEA}.

Recently anna university has allotted 1.85 lakh seats,1.31 lakh students were called for allotment,this was a report after completion of jine 27 at end of Saturday last counselling, just 37,306 seats has filled,while 1,47,990 seats remained vacant

And authority expect remaining seats may be filled at the end of the counselling,

By this report, they estimate that more than a lakh seats will remain vacant this year.

And to the other reports, 50% of the seats available in engineering colleges in government quota and management quota.

This situation is due to the mainly {AICTE} which allowed new engineering colleges establishment without proper study, AICTE should be given power to deny permission to start new colleges.
